We have been pretty impressed by Plaza Premium‘s latest few lounges, and this new lounge, announced for London Heathrow’s Terminal 2 is no exception to their rule. The latest lounge, which open on June 4th, the same day the terminal opens, will be Hong Kong based Plaza Premium’s first venture in Europe. The innovative lounge has been designed to enhance the airport experience for travellers – regardless of the choice of airline or class of travel – for just £38 per person for two hours.

As we expand the Plaza Premium Lounge brand internationally, we also seek to consistently enhance the airport experience for our guests by introducing new and exciting facilities, in this upcoming lounge, our Wellness Spa in the lounge has partnered with ila, an organic English spa brand with fanfare such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller, to name a few, we have come together to design a beautiful exclusive range of treatments to tackle travel woes.” The airline has pulled out all the stops, offering shower facilities, private relaxation suites, champagne bar as well as a celebrity chef menu to entice and excite.

The design seems sympathetic to London, with familiar lines and finishes found in some of London’s most prestigious hotels, whilst still holding true to interior designer, Kinney Chan’s (of KCA Associates) design vision, that is found in all of Plaza Premium’s newest lounges.

LHR_Private Relaxation Suites

We love the fact that the space has been considered with the user in Mind. The 8,100 sq ft lounge, that can seat 180 people is open from 5am to 11pm daily, suiting the airports commercial opening times. The creation of 5 private en-suite relaxation rooms, that look more like 5 star luxury hotel suites are available for passengers with long connecting times at an extra cost. Other items which are additional to the £38 entrance fee are vintage champagnes and their spa treatments. We also love the interior design, it’s elegant, opulent and interesting. As far as we are concerned, it weighs in far above our expectations of what £38 would get you in an airport.

LHR_Lounge and Dining

This will give United’s equally fantastic T2 lounge a run for its money. One thing is for sure, with 50 lounges from Plaza Premium expected to launch by end of 2015 including a luxury lounge in Sydney, Plaza Premium are starting to corner the market of pay-for High Quality Luxury Lounges around the world.
