Helsinki is increasingly becoming a popular stopover for passengers between Europe and Asia. Dubbed the ‘fastest way to Asia’ Helsinki Airport benefits from a geographical advantage, meaning flights from Helsinki are much shorter than flying from other European capitals.

Appealing to economy passengers who are less inclined to spend hours on end bolt-upright, Helsinki will soon offer the same passengers the opportunity to relax in the airport in comfort thanks to Plaza Premium. Soon to open in the new non-Schengen terminal extension, the lounge will be ideally situated in the airport’s new central plaza giving long haul passengers the maximum time relaxing instead of transiting through the airport.

Penned to open in February 2019, the pay-for lounge will offer comfortable seating, a live kitchen, a bar, shower facilities, recharging stations, complimentary Wi-Fi, computer workstations, and a kid zone for family travellers.

“Our decision to expand to Helsinki Airport was a natural one. Finland is a major transit hub offering the shortest route between Europe and Asia. We look forward to extending our airport hospitality expertise in our third market in Europe. This partnership will be another major milestone in achieving our global ambitions.” shares Jonathan Song, Business Development Director of Plaza Premium Group.

Plaza Premium Lounge now operates in over 40 major international airports including London Heathrow, Rome, Vancouver, Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Brisbane, Sydney, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and New Delhi.
