Hawaiian Airlines has officially launched a beta of their new website, currently accessible to their HawaiianMiles members. The site will be rolling out in phases, with a full launch is expected later this summer.
This is a complete revamp of a site that wasn’t terrible, but had gone through a few skins of what was fundamentally the same website. The new ‘hyper-focused’ look is all about making the navigation process easier and more intuitive, paired with beautiful imagery reflecting Hawaii’s authentic beauty. “Our goal is to allow customers to move seamlessly from dreaming about and researching for a trip to Hawaii to buying their tickets and any other aspect of their vacation. The new site will give customers the ability to customize and personalize their vacation, making each itinerary special.” said Hawaiian Airlines on their new site.
The site has a wealth of new features – and whilst none are groundbreaking – they certainly will appeal to first time flyers to Hawaii and regular travellers alike. New elements include being able to look at seat availability whilst booking, look at previous searches and even enhanced Hawaiian Miles account information.
But the best element has to be the island guides. Where Hawaiian Airlines have obviously invested time and effort in creating a one-stop portal to help first time (or regular) travellers to the islands discover more locally-sourced places to go, eat and things to do. We like the big expansive imagery, clean easy to use navigation and the addition of retro fonts, all creating a window into true Hawaiian aesthetic.
What we find interesting is nowhere (currently) does the site laud up its First Class offering, which is a real selling point for the carrier and perhaps a missed opportunity, we have no doubt this will be added as the site goes officially live in a few months time.
