CLUB ONE

British Airways have just refurbished the Club World Galleries South lounge in T5A, just a couple of weeks after they refurbished their First Lounge in T5. A new furniture layout has been created in the lounge to enhance individual seating and increase privacy through the use of screens and high backed chairs.

CLUB TWO

As part of the extensive refresh, over 400 new pieces of furniture, ranging from stylish sleek chairs, occasional tables, new dining furniture and leather sofas have replaced the original furniture. Troy Warfield, British Airways’ director of customer experience, said: “It’s important that our premium customers flying in Club World can start their journey on the ground with the best service and surroundings, to ensure they are relaxed and comfortable even before they board their flight.

CLUB THREE

Customers entitled to use the lounge can now relax before their flight on a range of brand new furniture and make use of the added extra power points throughout the lounge to charge laptops, phone and tablet computers. As a temporary measure, the lounge has also been fitted out with new carpets while its extensive oak wooded floors are being re-sanded, waxed and will be beautifully polished.

“Customers using the Club Galleries South lounge can relax in calm and tranquil surroundings and choose from a selection of fine wines, spirits, soft drinks from the lounge’s ‘Silver’ bar, all under the glow of a Swarovski crystal chandelier.” The press release also talks about champagne in the lounge, the worst kept secret for frequent fliers “…or customers can ask for a nicely chilled glass of champagne.”

CLUB FOUR

The lounges may not have the bling and glamour of their latest Singapore Galleries and Concorde Lounge, but the new furniture and convenient power points are a welcome addition to probably the busiest lounge at Heathrow.
