Yesterday saw the re-opening of American Express’ Centurion Lounge at Miami International Airport. The lounge was recently expanded and renovated to offer Platinum Card Members access to even more space and better food and beverage selections in one of the network’s most popular lounges.
Featuring an extra 100 seats, the lounge encompasses 12,300 sq. ft, with a new, second bar, that will be dedicated to serving a selection of wines curated by Centurion Lounge Wine Director Anthony Giglio, as well as an assortment of beers.
The new, refreshed menu features fresh, locally-inspired cuisine created by James Beard Award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein, including a brand new selection of premium cold dishes, such as a Greek yogurt bar at breakfast, as well as chilled soups, protein and grain salads, fresh sandwiches and more for lunch/dinner.
The updated hot bar menu features breakfast items such as orange ricotta pancakes with citrus cream, chilaquiles with salsa verde and sweet potato and Yukon potato hash, as well as lunch/dinner dishes such as warm soups and salads, grilled chimichurri chicken, roasted vegetables and more. Yum!
“We are so proud to unveil the renovated and expanded Centurion Lounge at Miami International Airport,” said Chris Cracchiolo, SVP, Global Loyalty & Benefits at American Express. “We know our Card Members value the services and amenities of our Centurion Lounge in this airport, so we’re excited to enhance these even further, and offer more seating for them to enjoy, relax and recharge in the new space.”
“Working with The Centurion Lounge has been one of the best partnerships of my career. I have not only enjoyed creating and producing delicious experiences for guests from around the world, but as an American Express Card Member I have also enjoyed all the perks of the Lounge every time I travel,” said Michelle Bernstein, Executive Chef of The Centurion Lounge at MIA. “I didn’t think it could get any better, until I was asked to create a new kind of menu for the expansion of the lounge. I have created a menu of my favorite sandwiches throughout the years: delicious salads, comforting soups and nibbles. Not only can we feed more people, but now you can choose from two completely different gastronomic experiences.”
“Congratulations to American Express for successfully expanding The Centurion Lounge at MIA,” said Lester Sola, Miami International Airport Director and CEO. “In addition to providing more square footage, the new Centurion Lounge will offer an even larger selection of premium dining options for our passengers to enjoy, and better meet the growing demand for The Centurion Lounge’s acclaimed services and amenities.”
