This month our favourite independent lounge company Plaza Premium launched a brand new lounge in Shanghai Pudong for China Eastern airlines. The world’s first co-branded spacious lounge, situated in Shanghai’s Terminal 2 features 1,800 square meters of space for passengers to relax before their flights.

The lounge which can seat up to 500 guests in comfort, has been designed on an ‘East-meets-West’ philosophy with an ambition to offer “world-class hospitality blended with Eastern charm.” The new No.77 lounge (named after the gate it is situated next to) is fully equippedwith an array of relatively independent facilities, including leisure area, buffet area, bar area, 5 internet workstations, nursing room, 3 shower rooms, relaxation area, honeycomb seating, smoking room and complimentary Wi-Fi to provide travellers with a “premier personalized experience of privacy and priority.”

With a lack of a ceiling, the open lounge area makes use of the fantastic airport architecture of the airport roof, similar to the expansive lounges found in Hong Kong and Dubai, and also features a 180-degree airport runway view.

It’s not all design though, the lounge has Plaza Premium’s signature service offering, providing passengers a wide selection of exquisite Chinese and Western style buffets throughout the day. To add to local fare, the lounge’s chefs will also freshly prepare Shanghai-and Hong Kong-style signature noodlesat the live cooking station to provide guests with a diversified and enjoyable experience of authentic delicacies before boarding.

Following the Plaza Premium business model, and unlike other airline lounges, the new No.77 China Eastern Plaza Premium Lounge welcomes all travellers regardless of their airline or class of travel.
