JAL announced yesterday they will be opening a totally renovated Sakura Lounge in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport on March 1st. The new oneworld lounge will join fellow member Cathay Pacific’s designer lounge, opened in June 2015.
“With the aim of creating a relaxed and comfortable environment to meet our customer requirements, JAL redesigned and upgraded its Bangkok Sakura Lounge, with new layout and more shower suites. Menus in new Bangkok Sakura Lounge will be provided by NIPPON-TEI, a popular, long-established Japanese restaurant in Bangkok.” stated the press release.
The lounge matches the existing design concept for the carrier’s other global lounges, with calm greys and cool natural colours adorning the lounge throughout. As well as a specific dining area, cubist design details and plenty of seating, the lounge also boasts three additional shower suites, a new smoking area, baggage storage area and power and USB ports for every seat.
But perhaps the most exciting addition is the new menu provided by Japanese restaurant NIPPON-TEI. The menu will include the popular dish of beef curry as well as Japanese appetisers. A must try for passengers before boarding their flight. Naturally there is an expanding choice now for business class passengers in Bangkok travelling on oneworld carriers.
