Aegean just completed its Neo-era rebranding by presenting the new uniforms, in collaboration with the renowned Greek brand Zeus+Dione. The new uniforms, which were designed by the creative direction of Marios Schwab, are in perfect harmony with Aegean’s “Neo-era vision” and image, incorporating core design touches that seamlessly connect with the larger passenger experience.

As is clear from the video trailer, the teams drew inspiration from the colour palette of the Greek sky and sea. Zeus+Dione have done an excellent job in creating a collection of outfits that combine Greek heritage, Aegean’s Neo-era philosophy and a contemporary look that doesn’t look out of place as a lauded capsule collection for a ready-to-wear brand.

It’s also clear with the mix and match of designs and uniform pieces, it’s been designed with diversity and inclusion in mind. The diverse range of options include pieces that form a multifaceted mosaic in the crew’s attire. “Classic tailored silhouettes are thoughtfully accented with attached neck scarves, geometric asymmetries, and contrasting linear accents that underscore the garments’ structural finesse,” states the press release.

No new uniform release would be complete without a new grooming standard too, and it’s no surprise that Aegean turned to Greek brand Korres, pioneer in the category of natural cosmetics. “The long-lasting professional effect of Korres’ makeup collection guarantees the crew’s elegant appearance and comfort during the flight,” states Aegean. It’s still one of our favourite more affordable skin care brands.

Unlike the rollouts of American, Delta and British Airways, Aegean, being a smaller more nimble brand has managed to already roll out its uniform, with the new look being found on the airline’s captains, cabin crew and ground staff.

We love this capsule collection. It’s clever, smart and contemporary. It’s what i would expect to see if tried-and-failed Joon grew up by a decade. The colour is bold and certainly striking, but the colour is so overused by airline’s i can’t help but feel in an airport across Europe if i saw the crew i would struggle to remember which airline they represented. A key signature element like a hat or gloves, would help them stand out further. After all, uniforms and crew are part of a brand and marketing platform, and it’s important that the uniforms serve a purpose to promote the carrier.
