The Democratic Republic of Congo may not be on every airline’s bucket list of lounge locations, but for Brussels Airlines, Kinshasa is a valuable route, and worthy of it’s first premium lounge offering outside of Brussels. Named ‘The Suite – Kinshasa’, after its recently opened namesake in Brussels, The Suite offers an intimate but well crafted lounge for its Business Class travellers and frequent fliers.
The Brussels-Kinshasa connection is actually one of Brussels Airlines’ most important routes. On a daily basis, the airline connects Brussels Airport with the capital of the former Belgian colony. Brussels Airlines actively employs 100 people in the DRC to operate and commercialize the daily flight service.
The airline has invested in the comfort of its travelers in Kinshasa and already offered a pre-check-in desk in the city centre, where passengers can check in their baggage the day before their flight.
It may be smaller that its Belgian counterparts, but In Kinshasa, The Suite’s guests will have drinks, a snack buffet, a vast offer of newspapers and magazines and of course free Wi-Fi available before the flight. The concept of The Suite is based on the pre-established Loft lounge in Brussels Airport.
The overall finish is modern and sleek with comfortable seats, a work zone, high tables for networking and a corner to relax. Convenience is key and The Suite is situated right next to Brussels Airlines’ boarding gate.
Very attractive yet reminiscent of former more intimate, extremely quiet and residential size like First class lounges of the Golden era of the Jet Age period
