Following the latest trend of airlines taking their safety videos outside of the airline cabin, Singapore Airlines has unveiled its new version, which takes viewers on a panoramic journey across various locations in Singapore.

This trend acts as a postcard, enticing people to stay and explore a city often used as a stop-over on long-haul one-stop flights. The 5-minute video is a result of a bilateral agreement signed between SIA and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) back in June 2017, aimed at jointly promoting inbound travel to and through Singapore, and showcasing the city state to a global audience.

“Our new safety video provides a more captivating way of effectively presenting safety information to our customers as compared to the more conventional approach that we have taken up to now. At the same time, it proudly showcases many familiar spots in our home base of Singapore to a global audience,” said Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, Mr Campbell Wilson.

While the video doesn’t feature the gimmicks of airlines such as Turkish Airlines, or the humour found in Air New Zealand flights, the tone of voice and slow pace is perfectly set for the prestigious carrier, once again celebrating the Singapore Girl, the icon of the brand. The new in-flight safety video will be screened on SIA flights from the end of the year.
